Frequently asked questions
How will the sessions be facilitated?
The sessions will be facilitated virtually, to allow participants from all over Europe to join us. The sessions will include interactive activities to increase learning and engagement.
Do I need to know design to participate?
Not at all! All theories or frameworks we will use in the session will be explained before we use them, so that we are accessible to people, irrespective of their level of education or knowledge of design principles. What is most important is to bring a sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn!
I can’t afford the course. Are there scholarships available?
We understand that this price might be challenging for some folks. At the moment, we’re not able to provide any scholarships, and have made this a top priority for future cohorts after the pilot. In the interim, it is possible to offer the option to pay over time, instead of all at once.
Would this program truly be for anyone, wherever they're trying to integrate in Europe?
Each person, life phase and environment is different. By combining experience design and unlearning, with strong threads of decolonisation and regeneration practices, we will be able to offer a customised process for every participant, honouring the local context and differences. At the same time, the program offers tools, narratives and practices that "empower" the change that internationals bring in those contexts. It’s important to keep in mind that the program is not aiming for integration or cultural adaptation. Integration has a broken promise and system dynamics that a program like this goes beyond, with critical thinking & creativity.
The program says “yearning for change,” but what kind of change? Is it personal or work-related? What will I/other participants be able to do after the program?
The program is meant to offer new ways to look at integration and what it means for an international to face/address possible gaps/challenges/narratives in a new home. The tools that we will involve range from "ways to counter hate speech" to "designing belonging experiments". They can be applied in a professional context, but they will also move something inside you. The pilot program is ideal for creatives, entrepreneurs, and artists who have found their home in a European city but always feel like something is missing.
Who is the content designed for?
People who have felt or faced the difficulty of othering and belonging, finding their spot and making a home somewhere else.
What can a program like this do for me when I’ve got all the answers on ChatGPT?
While AI can offer responses, it cannot hold presence. It cannot carry trust through the messy, unpredictable realities of our lives. AI doesn’t pause in silence with you. It doesn’t notice the tremor in your voice. It doesn’t feel you. It doesn't witness you. It doesn’t grow with you. We genuinely believe that no answer from ChatGPT can be a replacement for the alchemy of human encounter.
